Pictures speak louder than words. I'm glad I bought a new digital cam to capture the whole renovation experience.

The photos look a little stark right now as I haven't started to style each room. I'm exhausted from the unpacking so I'm taking my time to add the finishing touches. I need to go art and plant shopping later this week.

End of Week 8: I Can't Believe I Did It!

After 8 long weeks of renovation, I finally got to spend my first night in my new bedroom. Boy, I'm exhausted from unpacking. This must be the most tiring move yet. Must be age!

I'm half-way done with the unpacking. Most of the outstanding work was rushed to completion yesterday. So the move was considered pretty smooth.

The only disappointing news was my dryer. It flew off the washer when it was on spin. The whole washer rattled and the dryer hit the ground like Humpty Dumpty. The top was cracked and the side split opened. Hope the Electrolux people will exchange a new dryer for me.

Week 8: The Big Clean-Up

The cleaners mopped and scrubbed the whole flat today. They have to get the place ready for me to move in the furniture and personal stuff tomorrow.

The paint work is still unsatisfactorily to my standards. The supervisor is coming tomorrow for a good whipping from Dess. There are many areas that need touch-ups. I doubt they will complete the job before Sat. Frustrating!

Week 8: The Countdown Begins

This time next week, I'll be updating this blog from my new flat. I'm really excited about the move. On the other hand, it's nerve-wrecking to rush the touch-ups and final adjustments by next Friday.

The movers are coming next Thursday to transport the furniture and packed boxes. My stuff will move in first so that we have time to set up the rooms. Also, we want to move my bed and study table into the master bedroom before we install the glass door. Don't want to be walking on broken glass!

I think I need some more shopping therapy today. I hear Ikea calling my name!
